My current interests lie in number theory (automorphic forms), topology, group theory and metric geometry. This has led me to problems in representation theory, dynamical systems, analysis and combinatorics.

I take research students at the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels. If you are interested in working with me or in what my students are doing follow the link above.
I co-organize the online West Coast Dynamics Seminar
I am the transfer credit advisor for the department; follow the link if you have questions about transfer credits. I also informally assist honours students in getting the most out of their degree – drop by if you think I can help you.
If you want to locate me, need a fax number, or the like, try my co-ordinates. The best way to reach my is via e-mail. I am "lior" (at) Math.UBC.CA.
I spent AY 2005-2006 and AY 2007-2008 as a member of the School of Mathematics of the Institute for Advanced Study.
In between I spent a year as a Benjamin Peirce Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics of Harvard University.
I used to be a student at the Department of Mathematics of Princeton University. I wrote my Ph.D. thesis under Prof. Peter Sarnak.
Before that I was a student at the Departments of Mathematics and Physics of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. I wrote my undergraduate thesis under Prof. Avishai Dekel.
