UBC Mathematics: MathNet FAQ [Windows Login]
Question: I can't seem to log in to the Windows hosts. What's wrong?
Author: Joseph Tam

If you are trying to log into a public Windows workstation (i.e. one that is
not a standalone and is capable of authenticating to your usual MathNet username
and password), then it's likely you are using a password that has less than 8
characters. Windows enforces a strong password policy (even though the password
is supplied from another source), and you'll have to change your password.
To do this, see this FAQ item:
How do I change my password?
You need to supply your old password, then enter a new one (twice).
If this doesn't fix it, try entering your password (when no one is watching)
into the username field just to see if there is something gimpy with the keyboard.
If this does not resolve the problem, contact the IT staff.
