UBC Mathematics: MathNet FAQ [Network Parameters]
Question: What network parameters do I need to know to set up a host?
Author: Joseph Tam

Do not use any network address that is not assigned to you by the
IT staff. If you use an internet address not assigned to you, you may be
in conflict with another host and cause problems. If the IT staff finds
an unregistered IP, it will be considered a breach of our usage policy,
and the user may be sanctioned.
If you have been allocated a static internet (IP) address, you may need
additional parameters. Please pick the appropriate settings:
Department network (MATH, MATX building):
Range: 137.82.36.0-255
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 137.82.36.254
DNS server: 137.82.36.65, (optional) 137.82.36.1
Undergraduate network (MATH, MATX building):
Range: 137.82.18.0-255
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 137.82.18.254
DNS server: 137.82.36.65, (optional) 137.82.36.1
LSK-Undergraduate (LSK, vacant) network:
Range: 142.103.49.0-255
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 142.103.49.254
DNS server: 137.82.36.65, (optional) 137.82.36.1
LSK-FluidLab/Graduate (LSK126,LSK203) network:
Range: 142.103.197.0-127
Netmask: 255.255.255.128
Gateway: 142.103.197.126
DNS server: 137.82.36.65, (optional) 137.82.36.1
Auditorium Annex Graduate (AUDX) network:
Range: 142.103.197.128-255
Netmask: 255.255.255.128
Gateway: 142.103.197.254
DNS server: 137.82.36.65, (optional) 137.82.36.1
Additionally, you might also need to tell us where your host is located
so that we can activate the network port in your room.
