UBC Mathematics: MathNet FAQ [Anonymous Upload Nextcloud/Owncloud]
UBC Mathematics: MathNet FAQ [Anonymous Upload Nextcloud/Owncloud]
Question: How do I create an anonymous upload using Nextcloud/ownCloud?
Date: Sept 10, 2020
Getting Started
- Log in to ownCloud
- Create dropbox folder
- Share this folder using "Share link"
[x] Allow editing
[x] Hide file listing
[optional] password protect
[optional] set expiration date
Cut and paste the link and publish it.
As with any public submission, you have to protect against
- upload of malicious data
- overrun of data (you have a 10Gb total cap)
- attribution to submitter -- there's no real way to authenticate
who the submitter is. You should develop a convention for
naming files if you need to to attribute this to someone.
Filename collisions are handled automatically by ownCloud.
Note:
Our Nextcloud/ownCloud cap is small, 10Gb. So if you need more share storage, use UBC OneDrive which has 1Tb quota.
Please check our FAQ web page for "How do i get UBC MS OneDrive?".
